Must be the middle of summer and no one is looking at internet sites. I keep checking for guys to say hello. Ah well, the reunion is 3 months away. If you read this and are not signed up as yet, please consider joining us in Savanna.

Looking foward to the reunion...Going over some of the names...Anyone remember signalman striker,Dave Durst OS Division...His name is not in the log book...wonder if anyone knows his local...

Another reunion is coming up soon. To all my shipmates that I DIDN'T SERVE WITH, if you attend , you are in for one helluva suprise.
Our common thread is serving on the GAL. Years aboard, division dosen't matter: we are all brothers in a sense. Some of MY GREATEST SHIPMATES AND FRIENDS are ones that I didn't serve with nor were in my division.
It's always great to reassociate with shipmates that were in your division at the same time you were; but what you are missing is the opportunity to expand your horizons to meet some new great shipmates. Give it a shot! You,nor your spouse, friend, date, lover or special associate will not be dissapointed.
I GUARANTEE IT.

THREE Months until the reunion. Bring it on, I'm ready.

We have lost another shipmate. Lindsey English, JO3, 60-62 passed away on March 29, 2008 due to Cardiac Arrest. "MAY HE REST IN PEACE" He will be added to our "DECEASED ROSTER"

We have lost another shipmate. James Plott, BMC, *58-61 passed away. We were informed by his Wife Leora. He will be added to the "DECEASED ROSTER" and be remembered at the Reunion Two Bell Ceremony. May he "REST IN PEACE".

Stan and shipmates, Kathy and I will plan to attend every reunion possible until muster out time. Great times with great people. Thanks to all who work to make the USS Galveston Shipmates Association and it's activities first class!

As the current president of the association I would like to say hello to all of the older members and welcome aboard to the new members. I have been working closely with Soupy in planning our next 2 reunions( Pooler,GA. and Everet,WA.). We have great things planned for each of them. I Hope you can make at least one of them. See you then.

"WELCOME ABOARD" to shipmte BLANKSCHEN, Edward C., ETN3, 64-66, Tucson, AZ, Spouse Leslie. This brings the shipmates total to 410 and honorary total to 43. Hope we will get to see Ed and Leslie at a reunion sometime.

Served 66 to 68 and was transfered to the PBR's in Vietnam. Where is the Galveston now. Can't find her any where.

I served with Dale Dyer in A div. We had a great time with a WESTPAC and MED. cruise back to back. I am proud to say our div was part of the last to leave. Being in A div we were part of the decommission.
