These ribbons are eligible to be worn by crew members aboard the Galveston anytime during the specified dates. If all were earned they would be worn in the following "rack" order.

* The code is used by Dept. of Defense in identifying Medals --- Note: in addition to the above, all crew members would be entitled to the National Defense medal, as well as any awards earned at other duty stations. Other considerations like stars worn on ribbons for multiple qualifications are too numerous to be discussed here.

 

How to request the issuance or replacement of military service medals, decorations, and awards

If you have a copy of your DD214, you should attach a copy of it to a cover letter that includes your service ID number, current home address, reason for request (issuance of medals earned, but never received). Date, sign and mail it to
