Joseph J. Szydlowski Jr.
Joseph J. Szydlowski Jr., 63, who worked for 32 years as a millwright for Occidental Chemical Corp., died unexpectedly Saturday (Dec. 8, 2001) in his Town of Niagara home.
A Niagara Falls native, Szydlowski was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a seaman third class aboard the USS Galveston.
Before going to work for Occidental, he worked 13 years for Moore Business Forms. He retired from Occidental in 2000.
He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and Portage Post 1465, American Legion, both in Niagara Falls. He enjoyed baseball, bowling, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, the former Lorraine Holody of the Town of Niagara; two sons, Steven of Orlando, Fla., and Joseph F. of St. Louis; three daughters, Denise Demmin and Cheryl Morton, both of Orlando, and Christina Weber of Sharon Springs; a brother, the Rev. Joel of Trenton, N.J.; three sisters, Louise Browne of Pensacola, Fla., Theresa Molinari of Philadelphia and Margaret LoBene of Amherst; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, will follow prayers at 9:45 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. |
