Dear Soupy,

I don't know if you remember me, I'm Robin Davenport, David Lay's sister.  I wanted to let you know that my precious brother passed away Sunday, May 6, at 9:30 pm.  His health had been failing him for several months.  He had a lung condition, esophageal cancer, and he suffered a heart attack on March 3.  He was such a wonderful man, and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful brother!  He thought the world of you and talked about the USS Galveston Reunions with such pleasure.  I am so very thankful that I could join him on the reunion in Galveston, TX...precious memories of watching him enjoy it so.   His wife ,Brenda, is holding up as well as can be expected.  I thought you would want to know about his passing.
